John James Edgoose (1830-1930) was a probationary minister at Carisbrook Methodist Church in Victoria from 1859 until 1861. As a Probationary he was entitled to use the title Reverend. From 1861 to 1862 he was at Williamstown. The souvenir programme of the Centenary of the Williamstown Methodist Church 1850-1950 shows the REV. J.J. EDGOOSE in the list of former ministers.

    It belonged to John Robert EDGOOSE and in 1972 was in possession of his grandson Roy EDGOOSE in Chicago. It is very similar to a mug dated 1863 given by J. E. to Sarah WASPLENT (=WESTMORELAND?) and which in the 1968 was in the possession of Hilda BURTON formerly EDGOOSE (1906-1992). The identity of J. E. is uncertain: John EDGOOSE, Joel EDGOOSE?

    Illegimate son of Ruth EDGOOSE (1841-1910). The name of his father is unknown.
    WHAT: Invoice for coal addressed to the Executors of J. S. BATTERHAM.
    NOTES & QUERIES: According to the census of 1881, 1891, and 1901, John Stanton BATTERHAM (1857-1929) was described as a coal merchant. In 1911 he was described as a fruit grower. He died aged 71 on 29 March 1929. Later research has shown that he was the executor of the wills of William Frederick EDGOOSE and James Lewin EDGOOSE (1838-1906).
    WHEN: The invoice was dated 2 February 1930.
    WHERE: Walton Highway, Near Wisbech.
