  SERENA OLSEN late JOHNSON 1847 or 1848- Serena JOHNSON was born at Kragera, Norway, circa 1847-1848. The 1930 Federal Census of Jefferson Township, Cook County, Illinois, USA, enumerated on 22 April 1930. Anthony GORSKI, head, aged 32, married, house rented for $25 monthly, born in Illinois of German and Michigan born parents, employed as a motor coach conductor; Harriet GORSKI, wife, aged 27, married, born in Illinois; Robert GORSKI, son, aged 8, born in Illinois; Roy GORSKI, son, aged 11 months, born in Illinois. *Serina OLSEN, grandmother, aged 82, widow, immigrated 1881, naturalised, born in Norway, Norwegian language spoken at home before coming to the USA. (NARA Series T626 Roll 474) NOTE: $25 monthly was a very low rent. Perhaps the next door neighbour, a 58 year old widow named Catherine GORSKI, was Anthony GORSKI's mother. She owned a house worth $3000 and may have subsidised her son's rent.
