Witnesses were James PINKNEY and Ann MILES when Thomas MILES married Mary Ann LOWE at Seale, Surrey, on 5 November 1864. Thomas MILES was described as a 23 year old Seale labourer, son of Michael MILES, sawyer. Mary Ann LOWE was a 21 year old spinster from Seale, daughter of Daniel LOWE, farmer.

According to an Aldershot News report of their golden wedding in 1915 they were born at Aldershot on 23 April 1865.

From the Aldershot News in 1915:
"GOLDEN WEDDING - Mr. and Mrs. J. Pinkney
Many congratulations were sent to Mr. and Mrs. J. PINKNEY , of 2, York Villas, The Grove, on Friday last, which was the fiftieth anniversay of their wedding. Mr. PINKNEY, who is 83 years of age is a native of Blyburgh (sic), Suffolk, and Mrs. PiPinkney, who is 73 years of age, hails from Tongham. They were married at Aldershot on April 23, 1865, in the old Wesleyan Chapel in (illegible)een's-road, which some years later was destroyed by fire. At that time Mr. PINKNEY was employed on thhe London and South Western Railway at Farnborough, and on May 2nd, 1870, when the Aldershot branch was opened, he came to join the Aldershot Station staff, with others, including the late Mr. SIGGERY, and he has remained in Aldershot ever sincece. In 1871 he left the railway service after serving twelve years, and returned to his old trade as miller. For a number of years he worked at the Old Willow Mills, at Farnham, and after that for a long period he was at Messrs.Simmonds' mills at Aldershot. Up to within a few weeks ago he was as active as many a man half his age, but a bad cold kept him confined to his bed for (illegible) weeks, although he was able to get up on Friday, (illegible) with his wife and family (four sons and four daughters) on the happy anniversary day.
Mr. PINKNEY, besides being a very old inhabitant, is also one of the oldest recipients of the Aldershot News Old Folk's Christmas Fund..........."
