      Elizabeth Maud MILES was born at 10 Alfred Street, Aldershot, Hampshire, on 2 May 1875, daughter of Thomas MILES and Charlotte formerly COOMBS.

      Thomas MILES had married Charlotte COOMBS at Aldershot on 25 June 1868.

      The family were living at 10 Alfred Street, Aldershot, in 1881:

      Naomi MILES married Walter Leeder EDGOOSE, a builder of Perowne Street, Aldershot, at Aldershot Presbyterian Church on 14 July 1897. The address of Naomi MILES was Edward Street, Aldershot. Witnesses were Frank Edwin MILES and Maud Elizabeth MILES, her brother and sister.

      She married Cyril BILLING, a 40 year old bachelor stationer and bookseller of 8a Grosvenor Road, Aldershot, on 24 September 1921. He was the son of Charles BILLING. Witnesses were Edith Alice MORDANT and E. P. JONES. At the time of her marriage she was living at 17 York Road (i.e Barford), Aldershot. She was 46 years old but gave her age as 41.

      From the 1939 Register of 10 York Road, Aldershot, Hampshire:
      Cyril BILLING, born 01 March 1881, Stationer & Bookseller, Retired, Married;
      *Elizabeth Maude [sic] BILLING, born 2 May 1875, Domestic Duties, Married.

      According to the London Gazette Elizabeth Maud Billing of 10, York Road, Aldershot, Hampshire, died on 27 May 1952.

      DEATHS
      "BILLING---- On May 27th, 1952, Elizabeth Maud, (widow of Cyril BILLING), of 10 York-road, Aldershot, passed peacefully away at Farnham Hospital."

      Philip BILLING, a fellow member of the Guild of One-Name Studies, said she died at 44 Hale Road, Farnham, Surrey.

      The will of Elizabeth Maud BILLING:
      "I Elizabeth Maud BILLING of 10 York Road Aldershot in the county of Southampton widow of Cyril Billing of Aldershot Hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last Will
      1 I appoint my neice Edith Naomi EDGOOSE and my nephew Thomas Frank MILES an officer in His Majesty's Navy to be the executors of this my will
      2 I give devise and bequeath in equal shares the whole of my estate both real and personal to my neice Edith Naomi EDGOOSE and my nephew Thomas Frank MILES
      3 I declare to the best of my knowledge my estate consists of the following
      A Dunraven York Road a dwelling House with garden and plot of land adjoining
      B dwelling House No 14 Edward St Aldershot
      C £1000 the agreed sum being my personal share of my late husbands estate for services rendered in accumulating the said estate
      D £200 money paid by me towards the purchase of No 10 York Road Aldershot
      E All the furniture and contents of No 10 York Road Aldershot
      F Any assets to which I may be entitled under the will of the Late Thomas MILES my father

      Raymond T. J. EDGOOSE recalled at Boghead, Ninebanks, Northumberland, in September 2001 how "Aunty MAUD" caused outrage by living with BILLING before they were married.
