Miss Phyllis Mabel REED, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas REED, of North-drove, Quadring, was married at Quadring parish church to Mr. John William EDGOOSE, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. James EDGOOSE, of Quadring-road, Gosberton, by the vicar, Rev. B. S. JACKSON.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin beauté, trimmed with rosettes, and veil with coronet of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white tulips and fern. She was attended by four bridesmaids - Miss Audrey JEFFRIES (niece) and Miss Kathleen JOHNSON in lavender satin beauté with head-dresses of mauve leaves and carrying mauve tulips and fern. Mary EDGOOSE (bridegroom's sister) and Bernice MOLSHER (bride's niece) wore pink-figured taffeta with head-dresses of silver leaves and carried posies. Mr. James B. JOHNSON was best man.
The service was choral, the hyms being 'O Perfect Love' and 'The Voice that breathed o'er Eden' and Psalm 67 was chanted. Miss G. DICKINSON was at the organ."

"QUADRING
A PRETTY WEDDING was solemnised at St. Margaret's Parish Church on Monday, when the Vicar (The Rev. B. Stuart JACKSON) performed the ceremony. The contracting parties were Miss Phyllis Mabel READ, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Thomas REED, of North Drove, Quadring, and Mr. John William EDGOOSE, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. James EDGOOSE, of Gosberton. The bride, given away by her father, looked very charming in an ankle length gown of white satin beauté, trimmed with rosettes and veil with coronet of orange blossom, whites shoes and hose to tone. To complete her ensemble the bride carried a bouquet of white tulips and trailing fern. There was a retinue of four bridesmaids in attendance the two senior bridesmaids being Miss Audrey JEFFRIES (niece of the bride) and Miss Kathleen May JOHNSON (friend of the bride) who were attired in ankle-length dresses of lavender satin beauté with head-desses of mauve leaves, silver shoes and hose to tone, and they both carried bouquets of mauve tulips and trailing fern. The two little bridesmaids were Miss Mary EDGOOSE (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Bernice MOLSHER) niece of the bride) who looked sweet in their dresses of pink figured taffeta, with head-dresses of silver leaves, shoes and hose to tone, and carried posies. All the bridesmaids wore necklaces, the gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Mr. James B. JOHNSON. The service was choral and the hymns "O perfect love" and "The voice that breathed o'er Eden" and Psalm 67 were sung. Miss Grace DICKINSON presided at the organ. The organist played the Bridal March from Lohengrin as the party entered the church. As the happy couple left the church Mendelssohn's (sic) Wedding March was rendered. On the leaving the church the bride was presented with wooden spoons by little Derek EDGOOSE (the bridegroom's brother) and with a silver horse-shoe by Raymond WILLIAMS, also a nephew of the bride. A reception was held at the Parish Hall where about sixty guests were entertained. Later the happy couple left by car for London where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a bottle green dress with a fur swagger coat, brown hat with veil and brown suede shoes to tone. A large number of useful presents were received, including a fireside chair from Miss Eleanor CASSWELL, by whom the bride was employed for several years, and a tea service from Mr. and Mrs. Victor BROWN, of Gosberton, where the bridegroom is employed. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a fountain pen and the bridegroom's gift to the bride was a wristlet watch. The future residence of the happy couple is North Drove, Quadring."

In 1968 he was working as a potato buyer for Walter SMITH of Donington, Lincolnshire, and was living at 1 Churchfleet Lane, Gosberton.
John William EDGOOSE, retired potato buyer, of 1 Quadring Road, Gosberton, Spalding, Lincolnshire, died at Pilgrim Hospital, Fishtoft, aged 78 on 2 October 1990. Cause of death was Adeno Carcinoma of Rectum and Supraventricular Tachycardia. The informant on 3 October 1990 was Phyllis Mabel EDGOOSE (1912-1999), widow of the deceased, present at the death, of 1 Quadring Road, Gosberton.
