  EDGOOSE, Elizabeth (1763-????), wife of Peter HADDON (1763-1833) Elizabeth, daughter of James and Abigail EDGOOSE of Tumby, was baptised at Kirkby-on-Bain, Lincolnshire, on 4 February 1763. James EDGOOSE had married Abigail DAWSON at Kirkby-on-Bain on 13 June 1758. (Parish Register) There is no proof that it was this Elizabeth EDGOOSE who married Peter HADDON at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 8 January 1784, but the only other candidate is the Elizabeth, daughter of John and Mary EDGOOSE of Gosberton, who was baptised in 1761 and who presumably died before her half sister Elizabeth was baptised in 1769. Peter HADDON married Elizabeth EDGOOSE at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 8th January 1784. John, son of Peter HADDON by Elizabeth, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 8 July 1784, according to the Original Register and the BTs. Peter HADDON of Pinchbeck was buried there at the age of 70 on 18 August 1833, i.e. born in 1762 or 1763. No trace of the baptism or burial of any more of their children at Pinchbeck up to 1808 has been found, nor of the burial of Elizabeth HADDON at Pinchbeck up to 1900. There are no HADDON Wills at Lincoln from 1800-1858. NOTES & QUERIES: Lincoln Central Library wrote in April 2000 that one of the 1841 census references to HADDON in Pinchbeck was illegible.
