(GRO September Q 1899 Lambeth 1d 300) According to Kenneth Haward Walker , Charles William Henry ROSCORLA was born on 21 July 1899, possibly in Lambeth, Surrey. He died in 1923, probably in Wales. Charles William Henry, son of Thomas Henry ROSCORLA, hairdresser, and his wife Ethel Gazelle Lamarchent ROSCORLA of 4 Vine Street, Lambeth, was baptised at the Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist, Waterloo Road, Lambeth, on 13 April 1900. (PR) From the 1901 census of 6 Vine Street, St. John, Lambeth, London: *Thomas H. ROSCORLA, head, aged 30, hairdresser's assistant, born at Helston, Cornwall; Ethel ROSCORLA, wife, aged 24, born in Truro, Cornwall; Charles ROSCORLA, son, aged 1, born in Lambeth, London. (RG13/404/44/29) Their daughter Irene was staying with her grandparents. At the time of the 1911 census an 11 year old Charles ROSCORLA was living in the Dr. Barnado's Home Norwood Branch at 145 Portland Road, South Norwood. His date of birth and place of birth was unknown. (RG14/3375) The death of a Charles ROSCORLA aged 23 was registered in 1923.
