Harry HOLMES died at 4 St. Vincent Avenue, Doncaster, Yorkshire, on 8 June 1919 aged 27. He was a school teacher. His father James HOLMES of 4 St. Vincent Avenue who was present when he died, informed the registrar. Cause of death was influenza (2 days), pneumonia, and heart failure (5 days).

His name and that of his brother Charles is inscribed on the memorial marking the grave of of their mother Eliza Ann HOLMES in Doncaster's Hyde Park Cemetery.
