    • MATTHIAS GEORGE WHARRAM 1868-1936

      According to cr003c2378@blueyonder.co.uk he was born in 1868 and died in 1936. He was baptised at Naburn, Yorkshire, on 10 January 1869 (IGI).

      At the time of the 1881 census he and his brother William Allan WHARRAM were pupils at the Commercial College, Holgate Crescent, York, Yorkshire (RG11/4719/165/51).

      At the time of the 1891 census Maria WHARRAM was living a Providence House, Naburn. She was described as a 42 year old widow, 'living on own means', born Escrick. Also present were her son Matthias WHARRAM, a 22 year old farmer, born Naburn; heeer son Thomas B. WHARRAM, an 18 year old chemist's apprentice, born Naburn; Adelaide E. EDGOOSE, described as a cousin, apparently only 36 years old (although born in 1851!), 'living on own means', born Northallerton; and a cook, a housemaid, and four farm servants (RG12/3896/8/9)

      He died at Naburn on 31 January 1936.
