JOHN WHARRAM 1829-1884
Baptism on IGI Patron Submission
At the time of the 1861 census he was at Providence House, Naburn, the home of his parents MATTHIAS and ELIZABETH WHARRAM. He was 32 years old and unmarried (RG9/3555).
From his father's will proved at York on 14 June 1866:
"And I give devise and bequeath all my messuages lands tenements and hiraditaments (sic) situate at Naburn aforesaid and at Lingcroft or elsewhere in the said County of York and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever And also all my money securities for money goods chattels personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever Unto my son JOHN WHARRAM his heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the nature and tenure thereof respectively Subject nevertheless to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies hereinbefore bequeathed
I appoint my said son JOHN WHARRAM sole Executor of this my Will".
In 1881 he was still living at Providence House. Also present were his wife MARIA, aged 33, born at Escrick in Yorkshire, and their son THOMAS B. WHARRAM, a 8 year old scholar, born at Naburn (RG11/4728/9/11).
