  SARAH HIRST nee WHARRAM 1836-1912 Sarah WORHAM was baptised at Ellerton by Bubwith, Yorkshire, on 15 May 1836. Sarah WHARRAM, daughter of Matthias WHARRAM, married Arthur HIRST at Naburn, Yorkshire, on 25 June 1856. Arthur was said to be 24 years old and Sarah 20 (IGI). He was the son of John HIRST. (source: marriage certificate) From her father's will proved at York on 14 June 1866: "to my daughter Sarah the wife of Arthur HIRST of Dobcross Saddleworth aforesaid Woollen Manufacturer the sum of three hundred pounds". In 1891 she was living at Brown Hill, Dobcross, Saddleworth (RG12/3551/47/1): Sarah HIRST, head, widow, aged 54, born at Ellerton, Yorkshire; Sydney H. BAILEY, grandson, aged 3, born at Marple, Cheshire. In 1901 she was at Toxteth Park, Liverpool (RG13/3440/82/19): Sarah HIRST (HIRSH in index), aged 65, born at Ellerton, Yorkshire; Lucy BAILEY, widow, aged 41, living on own means, born at Saddleworth, Yorkshire; Sydney Hirst BAILEY, aged 13, born at Marple, Cheshire.
