      From the Decatur Daily Review (Decatur, Illinois, USA), December 1929:
      "QUINCE DEATH:
      Daniel QUINCE died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Frank MEY near Hagarstown, from cancer. Mr. QUINCE was born in England Mar 28 1845, the son of Robert and Hannah QUINCE. In 1868 he married Eliza LEWIN in England to which eight children were born, two of them dying in infancy. In 1890 his wife died and two years later he came to America settling at Downer's Grove. Twenty four years ago he came to Bear Grove township where he has since resided.
      SURVIVORS
      Surviving him are his two daughters: Mrs Eliza PLUMB, Mrs Ada PORTER and Mrs Jessie RICHTER, all of Downer's Grove and Mrs Rosa MEY of Vandalia; two sons Arthur and Herbert in England; twenty three grandchildren and thirty one great-granchildren (sic).
      Funeral services were conducted by Rev J E VIRDEN, a former pastor of the Hagarstown Baptist Church. Interment was in McInturff cemetery"
