The Leeds Mercury of 24 May 1894 reported the death the previous day of Mr. Richard Francis WINFREY of Long Sutton.
"The death occurred yesterday morning of Mr. Richard Francis WINFREY, of Long Sutton. He caught a chill on Sunday, and died from pneumonia, aged about 70. Deceased, who was an Alderman of the Holland County Council, had just recently been appoiinted a magistrate for the Spalding Division. He was for many years an extensive farmer, was President of the Long Sutton Liberal Association, and was also a leading member of the Congregational Church at that town. He was the father of Alderman Richard WINFREY, a well-known election agent, and Liberal candidate for South-West Norfolk."
Richard Francis WINFREY of Long Sutton, Lincolnshire, was buried there on 26 May 1894 aged 68.
