WHO: son-in-law of John EDGOOSE (1649-1715), husband of Mary EDGOOSE (1681-1705), and brother-in-law of James GRAYHAM (16??-1720).
WHEN: The Testator signed his will on 15 January 1706/07. He was buried on 18 January 1706/07. Probate was granted on 15 August 1726.
EXECUTOR: William SPINKS of Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire.

"In the Name of God Amen: I John BETTS of Pinchbeck in the Countye of Lincolne yeoman being not well in Bodyly health Butt of Good and perfect memory prase be Given unto God for ye same And knowing the uncertainetyes of this Mortall Life And being Minded to Settle my worldly affaires Doe Make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and forme ffollowing, And first & princeypally I Humble Recomend My Soule unto Almightye God who Gave it Me and My Body I bequeath unto ye EEarth from whence it was taken Hopeing and trusting that Both Soule and Body Shall be Made partakers of A Gloryous Riserrection through Jesus Christe My onely Mediator and Redeemer, And as for my Worldly goods and Such Blessings as it hath please God to bestow upon me I will Give & bequeath in Manner and forme ffollowing:
