JUDITH HAMERS or HAMMERS 1673 -1742
Judith, daughter of Richard HAMMERS, was baptised at Spalding, Lincolnshire, on 13 September 1673. Richard HAMERS had married Judith LOCK at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 13 April 1666/67.
The marriage of Judith or Judah HAMMERS to John THORPE has not been found. (John THORPE had land in Castle Bitham so they may have been married there, but the BTs for 1698-1699 and 1699-1700 are missing and the original register is apparently illegible).
John THORPE of Pinchbeck, yeoman, made his will on 7 January 1701. In it, he referred to Alice his daughter, under 21, and to Judah his wife who was pregnant. Witnesses were Judeth HAMERS, Elizabeth GULL, and Humfrye MARSTON.
Judah THORP, widow, married George ELAND at Pinchbeck on 21 January 1702/03. George ELAND husbandman was buried at Pinchbeck on 4 December 1707.
The will of Robert BETTS of Pinchbeck was witnessed by both Judith HAMERS and Judith ELAND on 13 July 1703.
(LCC Wills 1702/36)
(A Robert BETTS had married Ann HAMMERS at Pinchbeck on 16 June 1653).
Judith ELAND, widow, married William CATLIN at Pinchbeck on 3 October 1710. William CATLIN was buried at Pinchbeck on 15 September 1731.
